ATIX Capture browser extension, ATIX panel for Premiere Pro & ATIX web app · Last updated 22 September 2026
In one paragraph: ATIX exists to record where media files came from. When you download an image, video, or audio file, the extension logs that download — and only that download — to your team's ledger, and checks the file for C2PA Content Credentials. It does not track your browsing, does not collect anything on pages where you don't download media, and never sells data. The Premiere Pro panel checks the media in the project you have open the same way.
What the extension collects
Only when a media file (image, video, or audio) finishes downloading:
- Download details — filename, file size, the URL it came from, the referring page's title and address, and timestamps.
- The file's provenance — the file is re-fetched anonymously (without your cookies) from its download URL and sent to our server, which reads its C2PA Content Credentials (the cryptographic record of how it was made) and computes a SHA-256 fingerprint. The file itself is parsed and immediately discarded — what is kept is the credential summary, the fingerprint, and a thumbnail no larger than 320 pixels on its longest side, so your team can recognise a capture in the ledger without opening it. A file that needs a login to fetch is recorded as "unchecked" and no thumbnail is made of it.
- Chain of custody — who pulled the file onto which machine: the ATIX account signed into the extension (if any), the computer account name as it appears in the download path, browser and operating system version, device model, locale, and timezone.
- Your ATIX account — if you sign in, your email address, so captures are attributed to you and filed under your agency.
What it does not collect
- No browsing history. A page is only ever recorded as the source of a download: the tab the file came from, or, when none matches, the tab in front when the download finished.
- No page content, keystrokes, form entries, or passwords. The extension runs no code inside web pages.
- No cookies read, no ads, no analytics trackers, no data sold or shared with third parties — full stop.
What the Premiere Pro panel collects
The panel opens only the media files your open Premiere Pro project refers to.
- The clip list — each clip's name, its location on disk, file size, modified time, SHA-256 fingerprint (when one has been computed), credential summary, review status, and any notes you type. While you're signed in, the list is synced to ATIX servers, filed under the project's name, whenever it changes; signed out, it stays on your computer.
- Files sent for checking — unless a local ATIX verifier is running on your computer, the panel cannot read a file's credentials itself, so it sends the file to our server: one file per scan, only formats the parser can open, and only files of 100 MB or less. As with the extension, the file is parsed and discarded; the credential summary, the fingerprint and a thumbnail no larger than 320 pixels are kept. With a local verifier running, no file leaves your computer.
- Reports — when you export a PDF report, its contents are sent to our server to be turned into a PDF and are not stored.
- Your ATIX account — if you sign in, your email address, as with the extension.
Where the data goes
Captures and project clip lists are stored on ATIX servers (hosted on Railway) and shown in the ATIX web app and the ATIX panel for Premiere Pro. If you're signed in, your captures and projects are filed under your agency. Sign-in itself is handled by Google's Firebase Authentication; ATIX stores your email and password only there.
Your choices
- The extension only acts on downloads — uninstalling it stops its collection immediately. Removing the Premiere Pro panel stops its collection too.
- Local capture history lives in the extension's own storage and is deleted when the extension is removed.
- To delete your account or your agency's data from our servers, email us and we'll do it.
